Look on Famous Enterprise Advanced Solar Power Ben Wu: Cadmium Telluride Helps BIPV

On April 11, the fourth China photovoltaic & Innovation Development Forum was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with the theme of "leading the new era of high-quality energy development".  Officials and scholars from the national energy administration, the General Institute of hydropower planning and design, Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Jiangsu Provincial Energy Bureau, Shanghai, Tianjin and other local governments, as well as more than 400 enterprise representatives, have conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as "how to help the industry run a marathon with PV+".

Ben Wu, CEO of Advanced Solar Power (Hangzhou) Inc., pointed out  "Building materials made of CdTe thin film technology, through the integration of building and photovoltaic, can transform every building from the carrier of energy consumption to the carrier of energy generation, making power production a new function of buildings. "ASP has been deeply involved in CdTe thin film technology for many years, and its CdTe thin film solar modules have been widely recognized. Its products are distributed in all provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China (except Australia), and exported to 38 countries and regions around the world.

Build a "five in one" Technology Industry Chain


Advanced Solar Power (Hangzhou) Inc. is one of the three enterprises in the world and the only one in China that produces CdTe thin film module products on a large scale. Founded in 2008, ASP focuses on the R & D and production of CdTe thin film technology with the development vision of "independent innovation and creation in China", covering high-end equipment manufacturing, production technology output, raw material supply, photovoltaic power station investment and operation based on localization, "five in one" technology industry chain.

 

   In 2011,  ASP established the first fully automatic CdTe module production line with independent intellectual property rights in China;Since 2012, ASP products have successively passed ISO9001, ISO14001 system certification, European TUV certification, U.S. UL certification, China CQC (Golden Sun) and other authoritative certification, realizing product marketization, gradually establishing the industry pioneer position of building photovoltaic integrated application in the global market, and formally undertaking the research projects in "863 plan" and "12th Five Year Plan" of the Ministry of science and technology of China. At the beginning of 2016, ASP and SoltechAB. ,a Swedish listed company, jointly established Advanced SolTech Renewable Energy Co.,Ltd., in Hangzhou. Its main business is investment and operation of photovoltaic power stations. By the end of 2018, ASRE has built 72 distributed power stations with a total installed capacity of 125MW, of which 118mw has been connected to the grid.


The Advantages of CdTe Materials are Obvious


At present, the highest efficiency of CdTe battery laboratory has exceeded that of polysilicon battery, and the module efficiency is close to that of polysilicon module.CdTe solar cells have no intrinsic light attenuation effect, high stability, and can guarantee 80% of the output power in 25 years; moreover, CdTe is a direct gap material, which has good absorption of the whole spectrum, and its power generation effect is significantly better than that of the crystal silicon cells with indirect band gap material under weak light conditions such as early morning and evening.The CdTe thin film module produced by ASP has strong power generation capacity and conversion efficiency of more than 13%, which has entered the world advanced level; The temperature coefficient of CdTe battery made by ASP is about - 0.21% / ℃, less than half of that of crystalline silicon battery, while the long strip sub battery is conducive to reduce the hot spot effect, improve the power generation capacity, ensure the product life and use safety;  In the manufacturing process, ASP pays attention to the precise control of temperature, and the damage rate of components is very small.


Highly Customized Building Integration Photovoltaic


According to Ben Wu, CdTe thin film solar power stations have been spread all over Europe, the United States, the Middle East and other regions,  There are many application types including roof and ground power station projects, but it is difficult for the traditional components to meet the safety specifications for use in buildings, so it is necessary to reprocess CdTe thin film glass into traditional building components before they can actually be used in walls and buildings.

At present, the building components made of CdTe thin film glass produced by ASP have been able to be highly customized in size, color, pattern, shape and transmissivity like ordinary building glass, and are widely used in China Pavilion of the world horticultural exposition, Tongzhou National Theatre in Beijing, Jiaxing Photovoltaic Science and Technology Museum, Hangzhou Sanbao drainage project and other large domestic projects, as well as color curtain wall of photovoltaic town in Sweden, photovoltaic curtain wall of Columbia in South America and other foreign projects,truly achieved, so that the electrical production becomes the new function of the building.
